Albatross is an Athens, Georgia-based rock band that creates a blend of blues, jam, and funk that comes from the soul. They play shows around Athens (Iris’s hometown) regularly, but they actually caught our ears on Facebook a while back. Albatross’s self-described genre on Facebook is “indescribable jazz/blues/funk/rock,” which I think is pretty accurate. If you must have a comparison, their sound is most similar to Back Door Slam and the Derek Trucks Band, and I can definitely hear the influence of the great Allman Brothers Band.

Albatross is Dustin Urich on lead guitar and lead vocals, Matt Urich on lead guitar and backing vocals, Drew Hart on bass, and the lineup is completed with Scott Tracy on drums.
