Minus The Bear’s fourth album, Omni, is one to check out. As a fan of electronic music I love that they layer melodic electronic sounds on top of their progressive rock sound. It’s a pretty laid back rock CD, with the occasional hard guitar riffs on songs like “Secret Country.” This is mostly due to lead singer Jake Snider’s, mellow, sultry vocals. Listen to the album all the way through without skipping any tracks to get the full effect - the album flows together quite nicely due to the similar sounds in many of the songs. This is the perfect CD to listen while driving downtown at dusk.
