Artist Spotlight: Silverbird

Genre: Folk Rock, Blues, Country

Junkies' Description:
We’ve seen Silverbird, the duo of David Leinweber and Bob McMillan - sometimes billed as The Silverbirds or The Silverbird Duo - perform several times. I describe their style as country/blues tinged folk-rock with plenty more stylistic influences thrown into the mix... they can really jam out live! David’s vocals blend perfectly with the guitar playing and the well-written lyrics. What really got me into them was that they played an awesome cover of my favorite song, Going To California. That’s kind of a hard one to pull off. If you’re a fan of CSNY, Jackson Browne, the Allman Brothers Band, Simon & Garfunkel, the Band, and of course the Grateful Dead, definitely listen to these guys. My personal favorite Silverbird songs are Daphne, Thursday Ride, Heart Of A Song, and Deadheads On The Road.

Official Bio:
The Silverbirds are David Leinweber and Bob McMillan. They perform widely in the Atlanta area and have entertained many audiences with their excellent guitar-work, sweet vocals and huge, enormous repertoire. (Did I say they know a lot of songs!!!)
Perfect for mellow dinner music early, or rocking and dancing later into the evening. The Silverbird Duo is your one-stop-shop for classic country, rock, folk, or singer-songwriter favorites. They love playing everything from Simon and Garfunkel, to Motown and R and B classics, to fun-time oldies, to heavy Hendrix, Clapton and CSNY. They also have a roster of finely honed originals.
