Album Pick: Sopwith Camel - The Miraculous Hump Returns From The Moon

Release Date: 1973

Junkies' Description:
San Francisco psychedelic band Sopwith Camel was the second act out of San Francisco, after the Grateful Dead, to be signed to a major label. After breaking up after their self-titled debut record, they reunited in 1971 and recorded The Miraculous Hump Returns To The Moon. They broke up again in 1974. In 2006, after being forgotten in the Warner Brothers vault for 30 years, the original recording (actually a was remastered, and you can finally hear the Camel without having to search down a copy on vinyl. Though I recommend listening to it on vinyl. This is a chilled out psychedelic rock album that must be a part of your collection. When you experience their music, you can’t help but go on a trip. They also manage to add saxophone without sounding cheesy which is pretty impressive.
