After listening to this album from cover to cover for over two years, I’m not even the least bit tired of it. First off, Space Pope & The Glass Machine is an awesome name for the record, and it should be commended just from the title and the trippy album art. As for the music, the album is the cream of reggae rock albums. Tim Sult, also the lead guitarist from Clutch, lays down down some great mellow riffs throughout. The lyrics are relaxing, yet the vocals have a hint of a hard rock feel thrown in. Plus, the keys are the perfect touch. It’s an awesome reggae rock album, so go give it a listen...now!

We randomly found out about Blackbird Blackbird somewhere on the internet some indeterminate amount of time ago. This is electronic, blissed out, chilled out psychedelic dream pop. The music released by Blackbird Blackbird is a blissful trip when you sit back and close your eyes. It's distorted but beautiful which isn't a normal combination, but it's one that needs to be heard by all.

Baltimore based psychedelic cabaret-punk trio Celebration is composed of vocalist/percussionist Katrina Ford, multi-instrumentalist Sean Antanaitis, and drummer David Bergander. One of the things that sets Celebration apart is the influence of cabaret culture on the band members, which shows up in their sound and their stage show. Another is Katrina’s amazingly versatile voice. At times Katrina’s voice reminds me of Grace Slick, at other times it reminds me of a female Nick Cave. Their music is pretty far out... their former label 4ad phrased it best on their profile: “ It's a celebration, all right. A visceral, full-throated, kinetic celebration of the power of music to take you out of yourself and into a strange new space peopled by angels, devils and white hot electricity.”
Celebration is currently working on their Electric Tarot project. The project is so named because each song represents a card in a virtual tarot deck.

Dakotafish’s single “Jitter” is already one of my favorite songs of this summer. The intro is so cheerful, the vocals so beautiful, that when I first downloaded it I listened to it on repeat for almost an hour. I recommend you do the same. After getting over the obsession with the first song I heard, I’ve discovered that everything these guys have released is well written, well produced, and very very catchy. But don’t expect all of the songs to be just like Jitter... they aren’t. You just have to listen. If you like Yeasayer, Beach House, and Radiohead, you will really dig this.

The King Of Limbs may only be 37.5 minutes long, but it’s rich with layers of sonic textures and includes a range of tempos and moods. The acoustic guitar strumming and ethereal vocals in “Give Up The Ghost” are beautiful. Touches such as the middle eastern feel of “Little By Little” and the orchestral strings thrown in amidst the swirling, buzzing instrumentation of the opening track, “Bloom,” are what make this album spectacular. As expected from Radiohead, there’s quite a bit of looping used throughout the album. One song (“Feral”) even appears to draw inspiration from dubstep. Radiohead does stick to their signature sound, which is definitely not a bad thing, but you’ll find a few new elements on this record.

Hello Cobra was once known as The Humboldt Trio, but they added another member, so they couldn't be a band with trio in their name anymore...right? The best way to describe Hello Cobra is an instrumental progressive rock band with with some super fast drums. We have witnessed these three guys play live when they were the Humboldt Trio, and all three are very talented. I must note that the drummer practically played a drum solo during the whole show he was so fast. Hell, he even snapped a stick in half! I love that the guitar and bass riffs are somewhat relaxing, yet the drums are fast and sporadic. It’s a great combo. Don’t get me wrong, they kick the guitar up a notch every once in a while during their songs. I also like that their music has a slightly dark mood. It’s simply a great listen.

We used to be The Humboldt Trio. We're Hello Cobra cuz there's now four of us. Hello Cobra has been lucky enough to play along such acts as Animals As Leaders, Intronaut, Fuck the Facts, Zevious, and Unwed Sailor.

The UnderGrounds are a two-piece psychedelic rock and roll band with a bluesy feel. They fit right in with the first era of psychedelic bands... I could hear them on the Nuggets compilations. I compare the UnderGrounds to the 13th Floor Elevators, Chocolate Watch Band, and Moby Grape. And of course don’t forget the influence of Syd Barrett -era Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Cream. The UnderGrounds’ first 2 officially released tracks have a bold bluesy sound, and we can’t wait for more.

Since playing their first show on Halloween 2009, the Undergrounds have been making a name for themselves around NJ/NYC for their sights and sounds live experience. Anthony Arena (drums) and Chris Imparo (Guitar/Vocals) combine their musical influences to create a raw new sound, taking the two-piece to another level.

Project Hero combines hard rock instrumentation and backing vocals with pop rock lead vocals. One thing I really love about this band are the guitar solos, and these guys really lay down some good ones. In the original songs written by Nathan Snyder, the three piece vocal harmonies blend together with the hard rockin’ guitar, bass, and drums very nicely. Their album “New Era” tells the story of the disappearance of a super hero, Mr. Silent. I also must mention their incredible cover medley of The Immigrant Song & Bulls On Parade.

Project Hero sends you on a journey no other band can. Through memorable riffs, unique hooks, three-part vocal harmonies, and creative storytelling, the band stands firm on the premise that rock music can be entertaining and meaningful again. Although the lyrics often paint a picture of a fictional world, the origin and meaning of the words are deeply rooted in the reality of primary songwriter Nathan Snyder’s life.
The best way to define the sound of Project Hero would be to say that they incorporate the epic song-writing of bands like Muse and Avenged Sevenfold with the accessibility of Foo Fighters and Green Day style rock.

If you love the electro-funk tunes from Chromeo’s first two LPs, then this one should also be part of your collection. Just like their past songs, these are full of groovy dance beats, lyrics about relationship problems, and a hint of auto-tune in the back up vocals. Even though many of the songs have the same sound as the their past stuff, new elements have also been incorporated. For example, my favorite song “You Make It Rough” is a bit trancier than their previous beats. You’ll also hear some female vocals time to time. Congrats Chromeo, You’re three for three for great albums.

Verge Of Bliss brings back the psychedelic space rock of the 60s and 70s. But don’t expect a generic classic rock band - they have a unique, unmistakable sound. Lead singer Virginia Bliss adds serious soul to the mix with her wide vocal range, and Trey Bliss can lay down some pretty sweet riffs and solos on his Les Paul...and with this combination, you will have an eargasm. My personal favorite of theirs is “Brown Thrasher” - the instrumentation combined with the lyrics is absolutely mesmerizing. This was once a five piece band, but it’s now a power trio since Trey look the reigns as the only guitarist and Virginia now slaps the bass. Now matter how many members Verge Of Bliss has, they will always be truly amazing.

Virginia and Trey Bliss form the foundation of the band co-writing the music for the band.  At one time, the couple was married but separated in the fall of 2010.  However, music transcends their relationship and both continue to work together to accomplish their combined goals to write and perform meaningful music from the heart and soul.
With the separation, the band changed direction and moved from a five piece to a power trio with Virginia taking the responsibilities of bass guitar in addition to vocal duties.  The line-up is now rounded out by Stewart Gussman on drums, providing the perfect mix of power and precision drumming to the music.
There is not one style or category that can describe Verge of Bliss and that is intentional.  We have various influences we work together but don't rely on for our sound.  At times, rock and roll dominates while other  songs have a prog/funk/blues fusion theme to them.  Songs weave from loud and heavy to acoustic and emotional.  
Verge of Bliss enters 2011 excited about the opportunities ahead.  A  debut full length album and a tour are planned for the year as well as branching out and playing new and favorite venues across Atlanta.

When these guys sent us their stuff and described it as alternative Russian art-rock, I wasn’t quite sure what my ears were about to experience. The experience was great. Nice Cliques are band with amazing guitar riffs and solos, well written lyrics, and some nice keys thrown in here and there. Other than that, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what they sound like. I’ve heard great ballads, great hard jams, and at one point, I heard their keyboard solo sound like some you would hear out an Emerson, Lake, and Palmer song. So yeah, lots of fantastic and different tunes here. And yes, the lyrics are English, not Russian.

We're trying to play music without limiting ourselves to stylistic boundries, however banal it may sound. You, the listener, may get acquianted with our songs directly on this site and follow the development of music from early recordings to the most recent releases.
For those completely new to our music we can still provide a sort of a starting point. The influence of such well-known artists as The Beatles, Radiohead, King Crimson and Pink Floyd can be found in our music, since all of the members adore the abovementioned bands.
We hope everyone will find something personal for oneself in our songs. We'll keep up churning out good music for your pleasure!

Alternative rock band the Spruce Campbells brings to mind both the pop and psychedelic rock of the 60s, with some alternative rock (and occasionally progressive) riffs in the mix. Chelsea Moore’s soft vocals are truly beautiful, while male vocalist adds harmony, with his mid-tones acting as a balance to Moore, and at other times adds a darker, harder edge to their sound. Keyboards, piano, synthesizers, hand clapping, violin, eerie, off kilter guitar riffs complete the Spruce Campbells’ original sound.
